You can use parchment paper instead of the foil paper next time when making pastelles. P.S. parchment don't burn.

Cooking in foil is not a good idea. Because the foil paper breaks down and the leached aluminium would enter into the food.

I think next time the pastelles should be steamed instead of boiled. The boiling would compromise the pastelles flavor.
